Hello and Welcome to the Evansville United Methodist Church!
Letter of Welcome by Rev. Dan Whitford
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Evansville United Methodist Church website and to this lovely historical church and the wonderfully open hearts of the congregation.
I have had the distinct honor of being appointed to the Evansville UMC since July 1, 2021. I come from the background of being a part-time Licensed Local Pastor in Darien, Blue River and Avoca (along the Wisconsin River, south of Richland Center). My call began in my twenties, but I found myself refusing the call for several reasons and a wide variety of excuses. In July of 2017, I began to seriously take this calling by God to heart and understood that my piddly reasons were no reasons at all.
Since that day in July, I have truly seen the manifestation in myself of becoming the pastor that I am today, a pastor of serving.
On Nov. 11, 2025, I submitted my final paper for the course work that I was required to do, in order to continue my track as being a Licensed Local Pastor. This was a long and grueling process of completing 20 intense courses.
I look forward to my continued ministry as we the Church carry our faith beyond the walls of the building and into the lives of our neighbors and community.
My strength comes from the trinity (God the father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit).
I am also grateful for my family: Brenda, Elizabeth, Shane, Laureal, Adam, Korie, Ihla, Rogan, Roy (Dad) and Judy (Mother-in-Law).
We (the church) would love for you to come and worship our God as brothers and sisters in Christ.
